
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.80387.02 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 06 March 2025 till 5:15 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12349.22 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 68037.29 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 20474.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 8012.79 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.18% to Rs. 85680 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 69745 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.21% to Rs. 8740 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.19% to Rs. 85686 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was up by 0.14% to Rs. 97680 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.15% to Rs. 97633 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 0.12% to Rs. 97635 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3828.33 crores with volume of 4456 lots and OI of 17850 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1565.83 crores with volume of 5334 lots and OI of 20857 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1694.26 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.55% to Rs. 884.85 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was up by 1.05% to Rs. 274.6 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.86% to Rs. 263.5 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.25% to Rs. 181.7 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1140.32 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 140.07 crores, Lead futures Rs. 43.56 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 274.38 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2666.19 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 1.15% to Rs. 5822 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 1.14% to Rs. 382.3 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 563.43 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1680.75 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.23% to Rs. 935 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was up by 0.36% to Rs. 52700 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 68037.29 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1203.94 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 19.59% to Rs. 139.20 with volume of 95036 lots & OI of 13851 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 21.68% to Rs. 124.6 with volume of 90090 lots & OI of 12606 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.380 was down by 9.81% to Rs. 23.45 with volume of 14161 lots & OI of 4037 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.380 was up by 10.26% to Rs. 21.5 with volume of 14968 lots & OI of 4263 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was down by 4.88% to Rs. 643.50 with volume of 1714 lots & OI of 546 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 6.13% to Rs. 814 with volume of 1697 lots & OI of 499 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was up by 0.81% to Rs. 3623.00 with volume of 364 lots & OI of 551 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by 3.67% to Rs. 2928 with volume of 235 lots & OI of 179 lots.
