
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.64683.59 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 21 March 2025 till 3:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12945.67 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 51734.25 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 20943.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 10166.19 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.68% to Rs. 88106 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was down by 0.46% to Rs. 71822 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.61% to Rs. 8992 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.62% to Rs. 88092 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was down by 1.46% to Rs. 97938 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was down by 1.36% to Rs. 97970 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was down by 1.35% to Rs. 97975 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5314.67 crores with volume of 5999 lots and OI of 21793 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2045.39 crores with volume of 6923 lots and OI of 21400 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1404.95 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.89% to Rs. 899.3 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was down by 0.64% to Rs. 273.6 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was down by 0.69% to Rs. 259.75 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was down by 0.47% to Rs. 178.5 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 987.47 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 102.76 crores, Lead futures Rs. 34.41 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 190.21 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1406.81 crores. CRUDEOIL Apr-25 contract was down by 0.47% to Rs. 5869 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 2.38% to Rs. 337 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 210.72 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 976.54 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 1.04% to Rs. 921 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was down by 0.58% to Rs. 53040 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 51734.25 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 513.17 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 10.63% to Rs. 162.20 with volume of 15925 lots & OI of 7857 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 7.84% to Rs. 200.9 with volume of 16406 lots & OI of 5066 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was down by 39.81% to Rs. 6.20 with volume of 26210 lots & OI of 5936 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was up by 90% to Rs. 9.5 with volume of 21941 lots & OI of 8069 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.89000 was down by 61.38% to Rs. 157.00 with volume of 2875 lots & OI of 974 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.88000 was up by 50.35% to Rs. 430 with volume of 4641 lots & OI of 1487 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 24% to Rs. 1893.50 with volume of 677 lots & OI of 1046 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was up by 24.38% to Rs. 2630 with volume of 437 lots & OI of 314 lots.
