
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.98423.94 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 20 March 2025 till 5:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 17573.96 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 80847.86 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 21087.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 13675.07 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 88570 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 72010 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 9038 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 88530 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was down by 0.72% to Rs. 99204 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.78% to Rs. 99107 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was down by 0.79% to Rs. 99083 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6851.72 crores with volume of 7692 lots and OI of 21527 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2898.92 crores with volume of 9695 lots and OI of 22202 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1690.83 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs. 910 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was up by 0.09% to Rs. 276.2 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.36% to Rs. 263.4 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was down by 0.74% to Rs. 181.2 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1191.73 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 146.04 crores, Lead futures Rs. 34.93 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 225.45 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2208.35 crores. CRUDEOIL Apr-25 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 5825 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was up by 0.47% to Rs. 364 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 246.59 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1622.55 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.23% to Rs. 929 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was up by 0.68% to Rs. 53400 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 80847.86 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 978.03 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 4.94% to Rs. 196.20 with volume of 31855 lots & OI of 11426 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 3.56% to Rs. 178.7 with volume of 37367 lots & OI of 10092 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was down by 4.55% to Rs. 10.50 with volume of 52808 lots & OI of 9789 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was down by 3.45% to Rs. 8.4 with volume of 48107 lots & OI of 11235 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 30.79% to Rs. 140.50 with volume of 5163 lots & OI of 1359 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.88000 was down by 22.6% to Rs. 327 with volume of 6329 lots & OI of 1806 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 14.15% to Rs. 2491.00 with volume of 1539 lots & OI of 1043 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was up by 10.98% to Rs. 3245 with volume of 783 lots & OI of 517 lots.
