Mumbai, 10th February. Maharashtra Rajya Hindi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai organized a one-day literary seminar on the topic “Saamaajik Chetna Jagaate Raashtr aur Mahaaraashtr ke Sant Kaviyon ke Prakhar Swar” In this dignified seminar, various speakers expressed their consent that the saints of the nation and Maharashtra always opposed ignorance, narrow-mindedness and caste discrimination in our society.
This one-day seminar was successfully organized on Sunday, 9th February, 2025 in the auditorium of Radhakishan Laxminarayan Toshniwal Science College, Akola in coordination by Shyam Sharma, Executive Member of Maharashtra Rajya Hindi Sahitya Academy. Every speaker including the inaugural speaker of the discussion session of this seminar Prof. Narayan Kulkarni Kavathekar, had the same opinion that our saint tradition never discriminated against each other on the basis of caste and they respected each other considering them superior.
Various speakers said that saints are only saints, there can be no difference among them. The saint tradition has existed since time immemorial. Lord Vitthal of Marathi dominated state Maharashtra is not originally from Maharashtra but from Karnataka, but the bigger truth is that he belongs to the whole universe. Similarly, the saint tradition of Gorakhnath and Tiruvilluvar is also above caste, religion, language and state. The welcome speaker of the seminar was Advocate Moti Singh Mohta, President of BGE Society.
Special guest and well known litterateur and lyricist Dr. Ramprakash Verma, who is an expert on this subject, said that the writing work of Tiruvilluvar and the social awareness work of great saint litterateurs like Shankardev are our precious heritage just like Tulsi, Meera and Kabir of Hindi. Dr. Pramod Shukla, Executive Member of Maharashtra Rajya Hindi Sahitya Academy, citing examples of many works of Tulsi and Kabir, said that their literature was so fearless and realistic.
Dr. Kiran Waghmare, practitioner of the saint tradition, made the audience aware of the remarkable social reformist works of Chakradhar Swami. Writer and journalist Dr. Shailendra Dubey conducted the stage efficiently. The seminar started with the Maharashtra Geet sung by Prof. Nana Bhadke. Sushmita Tushar Sharma presented Ganesh Vandana. The introduction of the seminar was presented by Shyam P. Sharma, Executive Member of the Academy.
The first session of the seminar was conducted by Krishnakumar Sharma and the second session was conducted by Dr. Shailendra Dubey. The dignitaries present on the stage were honored with books and shawls. Advocate Motisingh Mohta, while expressing his views, threw light on the social consciousness of Vidarbha’s Saint Tukadoji Maharaj, Saint Gadge Baba, Marathi Saint Tukaram Maharaj, Saint Namdev and Saint Dnyaneshwar. Dr. Shailendra Dubey made the audience aware of the teachings of Guru Nanak and Saint Dadu Dayal.
On this occasion, a large number of literature lovers including Mahesh Pandey, Prof. Sharda Biyani, Prof. Tasneem Vora, Principal Bhadange, Anurag Mishra, Dr. Rajeshwar Bundele, Prof. Monish Choubey, Dr. Sarlata Verma, Darshan Lahariya, Dr. Nishali Panchgam, Savita Taparia, Prof. Sarika Agarwal, Prof. Abhilash Bajpai, Shri Amravatikar, Vijay Jani of Gujarati Sahitya Academy, Dinesh Shukla, Siddharth Sharma, Tushar Sharma, Dr. Suresh Lalwani of Sindhi Sahitya Academy, Dr. Suresh Keshwani, Tuli Jeevatramani, Dr. Satyanarayan Baheti, Dr. Anand Chaturvedi, Prof. Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Abhishek Jain, Hitesh Soni, Suhas Deshmukh, Seematai Rothe, Dr. Komal Shrivas, Shalini Purneye, Neema Jhunjhunwala, Mohini Modak, Prof. Kalidas Lata, Prabodh Deshpande, Kapil Raodev, Shaukat Ali Mir, Shyam Sunariwal etc. were present. The seminar concluded with the national anthem.
