
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.78599.96 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 12 March 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs.11190.06 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs.67409.39 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 20631.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs.6787.33 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs.86075 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs.69925 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.07% to Rs.8758 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs.86078 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was up by 0.87% to Rs.98984 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.78% to Rs.98863 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 0.77% to Rs.98850 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs.3055.93 crores with volume of 3545 lots and OI of 19302 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs.1640.07 crores with volume of 5536 lots and OI of 22495 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs.2067.46 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was up by 1.26% to Rs.899.5 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was up by 1.47% to Rs.280.25 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.71% to Rs.268 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.68% to Rs.183.9 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs.1362.32 crores, Aluminium futures Rs.137.96 crores, Lead futures Rs.42.13 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs.394.32 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs.2330.75 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.86% to Rs.5840 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 3.97% to Rs.374.5 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs.441.02 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs.1523.43 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 2.26% to Rs.951 per kg .
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs.67409.39 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs.957.25 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 26.11% to Rs.107.70 with volume of 96511 lots & OI of 15919 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 38.53% to Rs.59.2 with volume of 95790 lots & OI of 19167 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.380 was down by 38.84% to Rs.13.70 with volume of 19700 lots & OI of 5107 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.380 was up by 55.38% to Rs.19.5 with volume of 19137 lots & OI of 4012 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.86000 was down by 6.41% to Rs.1000.00 with volume of 1588 lots & OI of 602 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was down by 1.28% to Rs.539.5 with volume of 1221 lots & OI of 953 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was up by 21.61% to Rs.2805.00 with volume of 727 lots & OI of 863 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was down by 8.5% to Rs.2755 with volume of 460 lots & OI of 290 lots.
