
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.110127.31 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 17 March 2025 till 6:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11577. crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 98549.16 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 21039.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7344.21 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.05% to Rs. 87948 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 71431 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 8976 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 87933 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was down by 0.35% to Rs. 100383 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.32% to Rs. 100302 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was down by 0.3% to Rs. 100299 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4017.02 crores with volume of 4565 lots and OI of 19869 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1153.81 crores with volume of 3823 lots and OI of 23994 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1321.46 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 899.85 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was up by 0.09% to Rs. 280.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 265.45 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.41% to Rs. 183.95 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 822.66 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 105.68 crores, Lead futures Rs. 24.02 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 277.00 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2904.73 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 1.15% to Rs. 5907 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was up by 0.53% to Rs. 358.7 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 606.05 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1890.43 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.14% to Rs. 953 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was down by 0.49% to Rs. 52610 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 98549.16 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1040.49 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 66.3% to Rs. 30.60 with volume of 142731 lots & OI of 14981 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 62.81% to Rs. 28.9 with volume of 129332 lots & OI of 15594 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was down by 1.16% to Rs. 12.80 with volume of 42478 lots & OI of 7214 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was down by 4.04% to Rs. 15.45 with volume of 34597 lots & OI of 6806 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.88000 was down by 8.68% to Rs. 789.50 with volume of 2179 lots & OI of 784 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was down by 9.19% to Rs. 435 with volume of 2797 lots & OI of 1073 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 7.79% to Rs. 3391.50 with volume of 575 lots & OI of 789 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was up by 3.17% to Rs. 3026 with volume of 496 lots & OI of 449 lots.
