
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.87611.5 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Monday, April 28, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14984.82 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 72626.09 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21789.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 12872.93 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.516 or 0.54% to Rs. 94476 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was up by Rs.163 or 0.17% to Rs. 94691 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was up by Rs.64 or 0.08% to Rs. 76183 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.74 or 0.77% to Rs. 9544 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.471 or 0.5% to Rs. 94600 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May expiry contract was down by Rs.309 or 0.32% to Rs. 96132 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.486 or 0.5% to Rs. 96094 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.441 or 0.46% to Rs. 95995 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6223.25 crores with volume of 6576 lots and OI of 20359 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2369.61 crores with volume of 8180 lots and OI of 16871 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1224.27 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was down by Rs.5.1 or 0.6% to Rs. 845.5 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.9 or 0.76% to Rs. 248.55 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.4 or 0.17% to Rs. 231.9 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.4 or 0.23% to Rs. 176.15 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 766.08 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 110.70 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 71.36 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 187.41 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 855.60 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.40 or 0.74% to Rs. 5356 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1.3 or 0.49% to Rs. 268.4 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 304.70 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 396.30 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.1 or 0.23% to Rs. 906 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.200 or 0.36% to Rs. 55300 per candy.

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 72626.09 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 764.16 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was down by Rs.23 or 11.53% to Rs. 176.40 with volume of 27859 lots & OI of 16175 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was up by Rs.15 or 7.28% to Rs. 221.1 with volume of 26411 lots & OI of 7672 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was up by Rs.0.55 or 2.96% to Rs. 19.15 with volume of 5441 lots & OI of 4650 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was down by Rs.0.85 or 3.94% to Rs. 20.75 with volume of 4452 lots & OI of 3825 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.283.5 or 63.78% to Rs. 161 with volume of 7017 lots & OI of 1180 lots, while GOLD Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.94000 was up by Rs.27 or 5.81% to Rs. 492 with volume of 6073 lots & OI of 1078 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by Rs.208 or 5.37% to Rs. 3665.5 with volume of 178 lots & OI of 230 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.98.5 or 4.28% to Rs. 2402 with volume of 193 lots & OI of 396 lots.
