
India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.79628.5 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Monday, April 21, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14756.75 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 64869.82 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 22167.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 12303.88 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.1510 or 1.59% to Rs. 96764 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was up by Rs.1399 or 1.47% to Rs. 96399 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was up by Rs.1109 or 1.45% to Rs. 77422 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was up by Rs.133 or 1.39% to Rs. 9723 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1473 or 1.55% to Rs. 96257 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May expiry contract was up by Rs.913 or 0.96% to Rs. 95950 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was up by Rs.891 or 0.94% to Rs. 95884 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was up by Rs.861 or 0.91% to Rs. 95842 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6124.17 crores with volume of 6334 lots and OI of 24731 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1689.13 crores with volume of 5860 lots and OI of 23012 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 944.04 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was up by Rs.6.95 or 0.82% to Rs. 851.9 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was up by Rs.1.7 or 0.69% to Rs. 249 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.5 or 0.22% to Rs. 230.55 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.7 or 0.4% to Rs. 177.8 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 611.87 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 82.28 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 27.02 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 149.63 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1536.86 crores. CRUDEOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.138 or 2.5% to Rs. 5375 per BBL while NATURALGAS April-2025 contract was down by Rs.7.1 or 2.55% to Rs. 271.4 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 536.46 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 779.50 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was up by Rs.3.2 or 0.35% to Rs. 917 per kg .
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 64869.82 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 905.94 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was down by Rs.72.2 or 27.09% to Rs. 194.30 with volume of 26484 lots & OI of 9885 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was up by Rs.44.8 or 28.48% to Rs. 202.1 with volume of 24322 lots & OI of 6236 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option April contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was down by Rs.5.2 or 40% to Rs. 7.80 with volume of 32418 lots & OI of 7558 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was up by Rs.2.35 or 53.41% to Rs. 6.75 with volume of 38292 lots & OI of 11032 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was up by Rs.519 or 80.34% to Rs. 1165 with volume of 1949 lots & OI of 502 lots, while GOLD Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.575.5 or 49.04% to Rs. 598 with volume of 2040 lots & OI of 831 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option April contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.357.5 or 43.05% to Rs. 1188 with volume of 3952 lots & OI of 846 lots, while SILVER Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.397.5 or 34.87% to Rs. 742.5 with volume of 2523 lots & OI of 905 lots.
