
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.86438.68 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Tuesday, April 08, 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 15416.95 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 71020.99 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 20362.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 11681.14 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.1295 or 1.49% to Rs. 88223 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was up by Rs.814 or 0.93% to Rs. 88130 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was up by Rs.443 or 0.63% to Rs. 70994 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was up by Rs.47 or 0.53% to Rs. 8918 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1083 or 1.25% to Rs. 87902 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.1686 or 1.91% to Rs. 89934 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was up by Rs.1636 or 1.85% to Rs. 89979 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was up by Rs.1579 or 1.79% to Rs. 89960 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5657.02 crores with volume of 6437 lots and OI of 16902 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2498.27 crores with volume of 9309 lots and OI of 28194 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1690.66 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was up by Rs.7.4 or 0.92% to Rs. 813 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.3.2 or 1.26% to Rs. 250 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.35 or 0.15% to Rs. 233.8 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.2 or 0.11% to Rs. 176 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1059.92 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 124.88 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 29.36 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 335.12 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 2080.65 crores. CRUDEOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.23 or 0.43% to Rs. 5270 per BBL while NATURALGAS April-2025 contract was down by Rs.7.4 or 2.29% to Rs. 315.2 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 783.21 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 1027.99 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1 or 0.11% to Rs. 907 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.250 or 0.45% to Rs. 54710 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 71020.99 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1353.88 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.19.7 or 10.91% to Rs. 160.80 with volume of 59721 lots & OI of 14983 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was up by Rs.0.9 or 0.61% to Rs. 148.6 with volume of 58973 lots & OI of 10473 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was down by Rs.2.3 or 12.57% to Rs. 16.00 with volume of 13977 lots & OI of 5662 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was up by Rs.3.25 or 28.76% to Rs. 14.55 with volume of 12183 lots & OI of 3457 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by Rs.277 or 61.22% to Rs. 729.5 with volume of 1349 lots & OI of 668 lots, while GOLD Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was down by Rs.502.5 or 35.15% to Rs. 927 with volume of 1657 lots & OI of 757 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.86 or 11.8% to Rs. 815 with volume of 1125 lots & OI of 1642 lots, while SILVER Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.89000 was down by Rs.1121.5 or 35.52% to Rs. 2035.5 with volume of 813 lots & OI of 297 lots.
