Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.81024.2 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 12 February 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9551.22 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 71472.48 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Feb-25 futures was reached at 20302 point.
Commodity Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 6956.20 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.67% to Rs. 84950 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Feb-25 contract was down by 0.62% to Rs. 68547 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.39% to Rs. 8443 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was down by 0.68% to Rs. 84532 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.4% to Rs. 94188 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.38% to Rs. 94039 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.34% to Rs. 94060 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3350.48 crores with volume of 3941 lots and OI of 17304 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1256.11 crores with volume of 4431 lots and OI of 25721 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1251.62 crores. COPPER Feb-25 contract was up by 0.42% to Rs. 857.5 per kg and ZINC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.68% to Rs. 268.35 per kg while ALUMINIUM Feb-25 without any changes 257.65 per kg and LEAD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.45% to Rs. 179.1 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 681.73 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 208.88 crores, Lead futures Rs. 18.01 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 231.66 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1370.09 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.96% to Rs. 6306 per BBL while NATURALGAS Feb-25 contract was down by 1.27% to Rs. 302.4 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 345.49 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 800.27 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.04% to Rs. 919 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was up by 0.41% to Rs. 54050 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 71472.48 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 756.21 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was down by 30.15% to Rs. 81.30 with volume of 90104 lots & OI of 19940 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was up by 41.72% to Rs. 71 with volume of 103565 lots & OI of 20739 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was down by 15.79% to Rs. 12.80 with volume of 9459 lots & OI of 5748 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was up by 12.22% to Rs. 10.1 with volume of 11636 lots & OI of 8942 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.86000 was down by 27.54% to Rs. 613.00 with volume of 1402 lots & OI of 700 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 35.67% to Rs. 1101 with volume of 1816 lots & OI of 448 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 13.39% to Rs. 1300.00 with volume of 1838 lots & OI of 1357 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.94000 was up by 9.91% to Rs. 1563.5 with volume of 1694 lots & OI of 427 lots.
