
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.12940.57 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 31 March 2025 till 6:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 3520.45 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 9419.92 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 21360.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 2621.31 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was up by 1.44% to Rs. 90083 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Apr-25 contract was up by 0.94% to Rs. 72554 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Apr-25 contract was up by 1.18% to Rs. 9137 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was up by 1.55% to Rs. 90136 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 100717 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.28% to Rs. 100678 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 0.29% to Rs. 100680 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1357.29 crores with volume of 1500 lots and OI of 20088 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 351.86 crores with volume of 1163 lots and OI of 23263 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 296.70 crores. COPPER Apr-25 contract was down by 0.8% to Rs. 890.65 per kg and ZINC Apr-25 contract was down by 0.57% to Rs. 268.55 per kg while ALUMINIUM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.86% to Rs. 247.45 per kg and LEAD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.39% to Rs. 179.3 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 215.62 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 21.31 crores, Lead futures Rs. 6.53 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 34.23 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 602.44 crores. CRUDEOIL Apr-25 contract was up by 0.27% to Rs. 5962 per BBL while NATURALGAS Apr-25 contract was up by 3.07% to Rs. 358.8 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 48.56 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 462.14 crores.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 9419.92 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 196.75 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 2.74% to Rs. 123.90 with volume of 11101 lots & OI of 14490 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 2.15% to Rs. 122.7 with volume of 7058 lots & OI of 6711 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was up by 29.3% to Rs. 20.30 with volume of 6462 lots & OI of 2399 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was down by 22.77% to Rs. 21.2 with volume of 4506 lots & OI of 1733 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.93000 was up by 81.34% to Rs. 583.00 with volume of 230 lots & OI of 149 lots, while Gold Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.89000 was down by 25.37% to Rs. 766.5 with volume of 286 lots & OI of 402 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.110000 was up by 56.59% to Rs. 653.00 with volume of 583 lots & OI of 888 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was up by 1.92% to Rs. 2200 with volume of 131 lots & OI of 622 lots.
