Teacher who received the best writer award
The annual convention of the Gujarat State Children’s Literature Academy was held at Gujarat Vishwakosh Bhavan on 22 February 2026. In it, the best books were selected from the children’s literature books published in the year 2023-2024 and their authors were awarded. In which, Shri Niketaben Vyas, who has gained fame as a modern children’s writer, has been honored with the Kusumben Bhupendrabhai Dave Best Writer Award with a shield and cash prize for her comic children’s story book ‘GangunaParakramo’.
Shri Niketaben Vyas, who works as a writer and reviewer with the Gujarat State Textbook Board and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, has given educational books to children’s literature – Gujarati Sikho Part 1, Gujarati Sikho Part 2, Chitravarta Series Part 1 to 10, Sachitra Pragya Reading book – through his unique method. Apart from this, she has made a unique contribution to the promotion of the mother tongue through books like Gangu’s Prowess (hilarious children’s story), Chiku and Saat Jadugarni (teenage adventure story), Sugandhawali Veenti (children’s story), Billi’s Photo Printed Wrong (children’s story), Bakana Gatkadan (hilarious satirical story), National Highway (suspense thriller novel). Her works are regularly published in many children’s magazines such as Fulwadi, Bal Srishti, Bal World, Bal Bhaskar, Jagmag etc.
Shri Niketaben Vyas, who has beenhonoured with the Sahitya Sadhana Award by the Honourable Education Minister of Gujarat State Shri Rivaba Jadeja on 5 January 2026 for his literary contribution, is currently working as a teacher at Ellisbridge School No. 30, Nagar Primary Education Committee, Ahmedabad.
