
India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs. 1487684.93 crores in various futures & option contracts on MCX during the weekl of April, 11 to 17. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 171542.7 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 1316121.4 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 21808.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 123436.69 crores. During the week, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs. 3221 or 3.5% to Rs. 95254 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 3382 or 3.69% to Rs. 95000 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 3177 or 4.34% to Rs. 76313 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 410 or 4.47% to Rs. 9590 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was up by Rs. 3138 or 3.42% to Rs. 94784 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs. 3442 or 3.76% to Rs. 95037 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 3297 or 3.6% to Rs. 94993 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 3295 or 3.59% to Rs. 94981 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 53782.28 crores with volume of 57031 lots and OI of 23821 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 25177.54 crores with volume of 88381 lots and OI of 22449 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 14201.18 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 17.75 or 2.15% to Rs. 844.95 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs. 5.3 or 2.1% to Rs. 247.3 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs. 2.85 or 1.22% to Rs. 231.05 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was down by Rs. 0.25 or 0.14% to Rs. 177.1 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 9423.62 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 1355.89 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 244.80 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2206.75 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 33891.40 crores. CRUDEOIL April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 344 or 6.66% to Rs. 5513 per BBL while NATURALGAS April-2025 contract was down by Rs. 24.6 or 8.12% to Rs. 278.5 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 9473.91 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 20025.34 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was up by Rs. 1.6 or 0.18% to Rs. 914 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs. 530 or 0.97% to Rs. 55030 per candy.
