
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.61025.9 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 18 March 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11529.11 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 49495.71 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was touched an all-time high of 21201 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and Silver variants clocked Rs. 8283.78 crores. MCX GOLD April futures opened at Rs. 88274 per 10 grams, touched an all-time high of Rs. 88672 at the top, hit a low of Rs. 88257, and were trading at Rs. 88595, up Rs. 572 or 0.65% from the previous close of Rs. 88023. GOLD June futures touched an all-time high of Rs. 88,489 and GOLD August futures touched an all-time high of Rs. 90,056 per 10 gram. GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was up by 0.64% to Rs. 71950 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.59% to Rs. 9018 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.63% to Rs. 88528 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was up by 0.84% to Rs. 101378 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.81% to Rs. 101243 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 0.83% to Rs. 101244 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4428.61 crores with volume of 4994 lots and OI of 20726 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1286.00 crores with volume of 4233 lots and OI of 24259 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1440.74 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.26% to Rs. 903.9 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was down by 1.22% to Rs. 275.8 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was down by 0.55% to Rs. 263.1 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 183.2 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 885.98 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 108.27 crores, Lead futures Rs. 11.72 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 325.69 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1885.96 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.9% to Rs. 5918 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 1.22% to Rs. 347.1 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 450.96 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1146.08 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.1% to Rs. 936 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was up by 0.84% to Rs. 53050 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 49495.71 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 735.59 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 12.75% to Rs. 209.60 with volume of 26063 lots & OI of 5822 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 11.33% to Rs. 191.7 with volume of 27484 lots & OI of 7298 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.350 was down by 22.13% to Rs. 9.85 with volume of 31159 lots & OI of 12429 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.350 was up by 14.54% to Rs. 13 with volume of 22098 lots & OI of 8623 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 39.62% to Rs. 259.00 with volume of 2508 lots & OI of 1227 lots, while GOLD Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.88000 was down by 38.98% to Rs. 472 with volume of 3581 lots & OI of 1284 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was up by 16.71% to Rs. 3956.00 with volume of 594 lots & OI of 866 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 9.9% to Rs. 2593 with volume of 585 lots & OI of 554 lots.
