
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.148755.03 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Thursday, April 03, 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs.34508.04 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs.114241.66 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 20957.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs.29837.13 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.1163 or 1.28% to Rs.89565 per 10 gram. Between this, it touched all time high of Rs.91,423 and the low of Rs 89,565. GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1131 or 1.25% to Rs.89601 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was down by Rs.814 or 1.12% to Rs.72130 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.103 or 1.12% to Rs.9059 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1161 or 1.28% to Rs.89203 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.4103 or 4.11% to Rs.95650 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.3964 or 3.98% to Rs.95751 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.3971 or 3.98% to Rs.95740 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs.11957.40 crores with volume of 13181 lots and OI of 20045 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs.8685.90 crores with volume of 29720 lots and OI of 21531 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs.1896.80 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was down by Rs.13.9 or 1.56% to Rs.876.7 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.4 or 1.51% to Rs.260.35 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.45 or 1.01% to Rs.239.75 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.05 or 0.03% to Rs.178 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs.1154.62 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs.245.69 crores, LEAD futures Rs.37.53 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs.322.51 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs.2860.65 crores. CRUDEOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.361 or 5.87% to Rs.5786 per BBL while NATURALGAS April-2025 without any changes 347.8 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs.1342.99 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs.1150.28 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.7 or 0.08% to Rs.925 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.520 or 0.93% to Rs.55100 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs.114241.66 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs.1872.8 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by Rs.141.4 or 64.57% to Rs.77.60 with volume of 90206 lots & OI of 20437 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by Rs.184.1 or 374.95% to Rs.233.2 with volume of 104625 lots & OI of 9286 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.350 was up by Rs.0.8 or 4.83% to Rs.17.35 with volume of 16814 lots & OI of 4552 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was down by Rs.0.7 or 5.17% to Rs.12.85 with volume of 12889 lots & OI of 6293 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was down by Rs.415.5 or 43.42% to Rs.541.5 with volume of 2401 lots & OI of 585 lots, while GOLD Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by Rs.376.5 or 32.93% to Rs.1520 with volume of 3024 lots & OI of 462 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by Rs.1392.5 or 59.71% to Rs.939.5 with volume of 4787 lots & OI of 2111 lots, while SILVER Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.1365.5 or 154.03% to Rs.2252 with volume of 1921 lots & OI of 355 lots.
